The experience came first. Makodah Care followed.

A support arrangement reaches into ordinary life. Someone comes into your home. A routine is shared. Decisions are made about the help you want and the things you want to do yourself. How those moments are handled matters.

Makodah Care was founded in 2025, with NDIS supports beginning that October. The company was new. The personal and professional experience behind it had been taking shape for years.

Living with support. Working within it.

Riley Myles lives with cerebral palsy and has been an NDIS participant since 2014. His work across support roles, the NDIS Internal Review Team, support coordination and operational management adds another dimension: experience of how services are organised as well as how they are received.

Kylie Myles brings experience from the legal sector and early childhood development, alongside life as a mother of two children with ASD Level 2. She is also studying a Diploma of Counselling Services, with an interest in complex mental health.

Together, these backgrounds bring four perspectives into Makodah Care: participant, parent, support worker and management. Our lived experience model puts those perspectives to work in the way we listen and plan.

Explore our lived experience model

A clear idea. Practical commitments.

Support should leave room for the person receiving it to direct their own life. That idea takes practical form at Makodah Care: a conversation before a plan, an introduction before supports begin and a clear explanation before an agreement.

Choice means being able to act. You can involve someone you trust, ask for a different worker, raise a concern or change providers. Dignity means your privacy, communication, culture and preferences belong in the everyday arrangement.

Our experience brings perspective to these commitments. Your experience tells us what they need to look like for you.

From Weston. Into everyday life.

Makodah Care is based in Weston, in the Hunter Valley. We provide support across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, the Hunter Valley and the Central Coast, including assistance at home, community participation, skill development and coordination.

The organisation now brings together 16 team members and more than 80 years of combined team experience. The work is personal in its detail: how someone likes to communicate, who they feel comfortable with and what they want to make time for.

That is where our story continues. In the way we listen, the plans we make together and the willingness to revisit an arrangement when life changes. Real People. Real Care. Real Difference.
